Abstract:
This research aims to analyze the influence of self-service features and real-time
notifications within the ERP application on the effectiveness of seafarer document
management at PT BSI Manajemen Indonesia. The primary issues addressed are the
suboptimal utilization of information technology, the absence of data change history, and
the lack of independent features for seafarers, which leads to a high administrative
workload for office staff. The study was conducted at PT BSI Manajemen Indonesia with
a population and sample of 30 company staff members selected using the saturated
sampling (census) technique. A quantitative approach was employed, with data collection
conducted via questionnaires distributed to respondents. Data were analyzed using simple
linear regression, validity tests, reliability tests, and hypothesis testing (t-test) facilitated
by IBM SPSS 29.0 software.
The results of the study indicate that the use of the ERP application has a positive and
significant impact on the effectiveness of seafarer document management. This is
evidenced by a correlation coefficient of 0.612, indicating a strong relationship, and a
coefficient of determination of 67.4%. The hypothesis test results show that is H0
rejected and Ha is accepted, as the (4.090) is greater than the (2.048) with a significance
level of 0.000 < 0.05. The author suggests that the company optimize the utilization of
ERP features to minimize human error and ensure all seafarer documents remain valid
for the smooth operation of the vessels.
