ANALISIS PENGARUH KONTROL NAKHODA TERHADAP KINERJA ANAK BUAH KAPAL (ABK) DALAM OPERASI PEMUATAN DI KAPAL – KAPAL MILIK PT PERTAMINA INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of the captain’s control on the performance of crew members (ABK) during loading operations on vessels owned by PT Pertamina International Shipping (PIS). The identified issues include weak captain supervision, low crew performance, and a lack of understanding of loading/unloading procedures. The research population comprises all crew members on PT PIS vessels, with a sample of 100 respondents. A quantitative approach was used through the distribution of questionnaires. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, instrument tests, simple linear regression, correlation, determination, and hypothesis testing. The results show a positive and significant influence between captain’s control and crew performance, with a strong correlation (0.825) and a contribution of 67%. The validity test confirmed that all items were valid, and the reliability test showed a Cronbach’s Alpha value above 0.60. The regression coefficient of 0.825 indicates that every one-unit increase in captain’s control will improve crew performance by 0.825 units. It is recommended that the company provide leadership training focused on assertiveness and establish detailed standard operating procedures (SOP). In addition, regular teamwork training and loading operation simulations are needed to enhance coordination and build a collaborative work environment.
