Hutabarat, Immanuel Jetro. 2025. ‘’Pengaruh Posisi Sandar, Jenis Muatan, dan
Jumlah Muatan Terhadap Lamanya Kapal di Pelabuhan oleh PT. Bahari Eka Nusantara
Cabang Balikpapan’’
This study aims to analyze the effect of berth position, cargo type, and cargo quantity on
the duration of ships staying at the port managed by PT. Bahari Eka Nusantara,
Balikpapan Branch. The main problems include suboptimal arrival and departure
services, high vessel waiting time, and the inability to predict vessel stay duration. A
quantitative approach using multiple linear regression analysis was applied. The
population consisted of all ship arrival and departure data from August 2023 to August
2024. Samples were selected randomly from this data set. Data collection techniques
included observation, documentation, and literature review. Data were analyzed using
classical assumption tests (normality, multicollinearity, heteroscedasticity,
autocorrelation), multiple regression, t-test, F-test, and coefficient of determination (R²).
The results show that berth position, cargo type, and cargo quantity significantly affect
the duration of ships in port. The coefficient of determination (R²) of 0.781 indicates that
these three independent variables explain 78.1% of the variance in ship port duration. In
conclusion, optimized berth positioning, appropriate cargo handling, and well-managed
cargo quantity contribute to increased port efficiency. It is recommended that the
company improve berth scheduling, expedite cargo documentation processes, and match
loading/unloading equipment to cargo types.
