PENGARUH KECEPATAN RESPON ALARM TANK PRESSURE TERHADAP KEAMANAN OPERASI MUATAN LNG PADA KAPAL TIPE MOSS SS. ENERGY FRONTIER

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of tank pressure alarm response speed on the safety of LNG cargo operations. The problem examined is the variation in response level, coordination, and crew readiness in following up on tank pressure alarms, which potentially affects the safety of LNG cargo operations on the moss-type vessel SS. Energy Frontier, operated by Mitsui O.S.K Lines. The population of this study consisted of all crew members, with a sample of 47 respondents selected using the census technique. A quantitative research approach was applied, with data collected through observation, questionnaires, and documentation. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, validity testing, reliability testing, correlation coefficient analysis, coefficient of determination analysis, simple linear regression, and hypothesis testing (partial t-test) to determine the relationship between tank pressure alarm response speed as the independent variable (X) and LNG cargo operation safety as the dependent variable (Y). The results indicate that tank pressure alarm response speed has a positive and significant effect on the safety of LNG cargo operations. This is evidenced by the t-count value being greater than the t-table value, so H0 is rejected and H1 is accepted. The coefficient of determination shows that the tank pressure alarm response speed variable contributes 74.1% to LNG cargo operation safety, while the remaining percentage is influenced by other factors outside the scope of this study.
