This study aims to analyze the effect of the effectiveness of the ship crew rotation system
on the performance of the Crewing department at PT Jasindo Duta Segara. The Ship
Crew Rotation System is a standardized procedure that regulates rotation planning,
standby list management, handling of sudden requests (special cases), and management
of maritime documents to ensure timely crew placement. The performance of the Crewing
department is measured by process speed, placement accuracy, on-time departure,
document completeness, and coordination with the shipowner. The research method used
is quantitative with an explanatory approach. Data were collected through a 1-to-5
Likert-scale questionnaire distributed to 60 employees of PT Jasindo Duta Segara using
total sampling. The data analysis techniques used included quantitative descriptive
analysis, simple linear regression analysis, Pearson’s correlation test, the coefficient of
determination, and the t-test using SPSS. The results of the study indicate that the
effectiveness of the Ship Crew Rotation System has a positive and significant effect on the
performance of the Crewing department, with a calculated t-value of 8.159 > table t-
value of 1.752. The correlation coefficient r = 0.731 indicates a strong relationship, while
the coefficient of determination R-squared = 0.534 means that the independent variable
X explains 53.4% of the variation in the Crewing department’s performance. The
resulting regression equation is Y = 6.167 + 0.672X. These findings provide practical
insights for PT Jasindo Duta Segara in improving the operational efficiency and service
quality of the Crewing department, as well as offering input for the development of human
resource management theory in the maritime sector. |
