This research is motivated by operational challenges at the Domestic Terminal of PT
IPC Terminal Petikemas Area Tanjung Priok, where the realization of the Yard
Occupancy Ratio (YOR) consistently exceeds the ideal critical threshold of 65% based
on the Decree of the Head of the Main KSOP Office of Tanjung Priok Number
HK.806/1/1/2025. This condition triggers a surge in non-productive re-handling
activities, hinders daily operational workflows, slows down the rhythm of equipment
work at the berth, and increases Truck Turn Around Time (TTAT). This study aims to
quantitatively and empirically test and analyze the effect of YOR on container loading
and unloading productivity. The research method used is a quantitative approach with
data collection through structured questionnaires distributed to a sample of employees
using a simple random sampling technique, supported by documentation and field
observations. The results of the regression analysis show that YOR has a strong and
significant negative effect on container loading and unloading productivity, confirming
an inversely proportional relationship where an increase in yard density directly
decreases berth productivity. Based on the coefficient of determination test, the
contribution of YOR's influence on fluctuations in loading and unloading productivity is
60.1%, while the remaining 39.9% is influenced by other factors outside the study.
These findings confirm that productivity variations are dominantly controlled by yard
density, making yard stack utility management a vital key strategy in maintaining
terminal productivity stability. |
