This study aims to analyze the effect of ship disposal and derecognition failure on the
effectiveness of fleet management at PT Pertamina International Shipping. The problem
addressed in this study is the occurrence of unsuccessful ship auctions, which cause non-
productive assets to remain a burden on the company and potentially reduce the
effectiveness of fleet management. This research employed a quantitative approach with
a sample of 51 respondents selected using a saturated sampling technique. Data were
collected through questionnaires and analyzed using validity testing, reliability testing,
simple linear regression, correlation coefficient analysis, coefficient of determination
analysis, and t-test with the assistance of SPSS version 27.
The results showed that the Ship Disposal and Derecognition Failure variable (X) has a
very strong relationship with the Fleet Management Effectiveness variable (Y), with a
correlation coefficient value of 0.852. The coefficient of determination value of 72.6%
indicates that variable X has a substantial influence on variable Y. The regression
equation obtained was Y = 4.055 + 0.871X. The t-test results showed that the calculated
t-value of 11.387 was greater than the t-table value of 2.009, with a significance level of
0.000 < 0.05, indicating that H0 was rejected and Ha was accepted.
Based on the findings, it can be concluded that ship disposal and derecognition failure
has a significant effect on fleet management effectiveness at PT Pertamina International
Shipping. Therefore, the company is recommended to optimize the ship disposal and
derecognition process through periodic evaluation of auction reserve prices and improved
coordination among related parties to enhance the effectiveness of fleet management. |
