The Port Sector Represent an energy-intensive industry that remains entirely dependent on fossil-based grid electricity supplied by PLN. Pombo Warehouse at PTP Nonpetikemas Tanjung Priok Branch recorded an annual electricity consumption of 29,761 kWh, while the Tanjung Priok area receives an average solar irradiance of 5.04 kWh/m²/day exceeding the minimum threshold of 4.5 kWh/m²/day established by IRENA (2022) for viable commercial solar installations. Regulatory pressure through Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources Regulation No. 2 of 2024 and the IMO 2050 net-zero emission strategy are driving port transformation toward the green port concept; however, no technical study on rooftop solar PV systems at non-container port warehouses has previously been conducted. This study aims to estimate the electrical energy generation potential of an on-grid rooftop photovoltaic (PV) system at Pombo Warehouse and to evaluate its technical feasibility. A descriptive quantitative approach was employed, utilizing irradiance data cross-validated from NASA POWER and PVGIS, yielding a Peak Sun Hour value of 5.04 hours/day. Primary data were collected through field observation and official documentation on 22 April 2026. Technical analysis applied 17 photovoltaic calculation formulas encompassing PV area estimation, string configuration, energy production, and solar fraction assessment, supplemented by a SWOT analysis and a comparative evaluation of three capacity scenarios. The optimal system was designed at 22.2 kWp, comprising 40 LONGI Solar LR5-72HTH-555M modules arranged in 2 strings of 20 modules in series, connected to one Huawei SUN2000-25KTL-M5 inverter (25 kW). The system yields a theoretical annual production of 32,663 kWh with an actual absorbed energy of 29,761 kWh/year, a Performance Ratio of 80%, and an effective Solar Fraction of 100%. The additional panel load of 10.53 kg/m² remains below the structural safety limit stipulated in SNI-1727-2020, requiring no structural reinforcement, while roof utilization of only 4.67% of the 2,210 m² effective area preserves substantial expansion potential. SWOT analysis positions the implementation in Quadrant SO. Pombo Warehouse is confirmed to be technically and structurally feasible for the implementation of a zero-export on-grid rooftop PV system in accordance with Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources Regulation No. 2 of 2024. Scenario 1 at 22.2 kWp is established as the most optimal among the three evaluated scenarios, demonstrating the capacity to independently meet the warehouse's full daytime energy requirements and contribute to green port development at Tanjung Priok Port. |
