Abstract:
The high rate of maritime accidents in the global shipping industry remains heavily
dominated by human error, including flawed decision-making and procedural non-
compliance. This study aims to analyze the influence of implementing the Ocean
Learning Platform on seafarer performance at PT Jasindo Duta Segara as an effort to
minimize the risk of such incidents. This research employs a quantitative associative
approach. The target population encompasses 254 crew members actively utilizing the e-
learning facility throughout the period of August 2024 to August 2025. By applying the
Slovin formula with a 10% margin of error, a representative sample of 72 respondents
was determined using the simple random sampling technique. Primary data were gathered
through Likert-scale questionnaires, while secondary data were obtained through
company documentation studies. All data were statistically processed using SPSS
software version 26 through the stages of validity testing, reliability testing, classical
assumption testing, and simple linear regression analysis. The research findings
demonstrate that the implementation of the Ocean Learning Platform has a positive and
significant effect on seafarer performance. This is proven by a significance value of 0.000
(< 0.05) and a tcount value of 11.470, whpich is greater than the ttable value of 1.99444,
thereby accepting Ha. Based on the coefficient of determination test (R2
), this digital
learning platform contributes 65.3% to the variance in crew performance, while the
remaining 34.7% is determined by other external factors. In conclusion, optimizing this
platform is proven effective in enhancing seafarer performance in the field.
