This study aims to analyze in depth the influence of P6 Bridge Clearance data
specifications on shipping safety within the shipping lanes of the Palembang Navigation
District working area. The background of this research is based on the crucial role of
accurate navigation data in mitigating the risk of maritime accidents, particularly
following the collision of the P6 Lalan Bridge by a coal barge in August 2024, which
disrupted logistics routes. The primary issue addressed is how discrepancies or the lack
of updated bridge vertical Clearance data can threaten the operational stability of
passing vessels. The research method applied is a quantitative method with a field study
approach and statistical data analysis. Primary data were collected through
questionnaires distributed to 40 competent respondents, including employees of the
Directorate of Navigation, Palembang Navigation District personnel, and ship agents
operating in the region. Data analysis involved descriptive statistical tests, research
instrument tests, and hypothesis testing using IBM SPSS Statistics 26 software.
The results of the study indicate that bridge Clearance data specifications have a
significant and positive influence on the level of shipping safety, where clear technical
data of the bridge provides safe guidance for masters in ship maneuvering. The research
findings confirm that the availability of precise Clearance information contributes
greatly to preventing fatal accidents in shipping lanes. The results further demonstrate a
strong correlation coefficient and significance values that meet the criteria for
hypothesis testing. Therefore, it is recommended that the Navigation District conduct
regular audits and data updates, improve coordination with bridge managers, and
accelerate the dissemination of the latest navigation information to all maritime users to
ensure shipping safety and minimize the risk of incidents in the Palembang shipping
lanes. |
