Abstract:
This study analyzes the impact of flexible joint damage on the efficiency of loading and
unloading operations. The purpose of this study is to determine the causes of flexible joint
damage and the impact of the damage on loading and unloading efficiency using
qualitative descriptive research methods and Miles & Huberman model data analysis
techniques. The results of the study indicate that there are several interrelated factors,
namely increased pump pressure that is not in accordance with the SOP and ship
agreement, corrosion in the tank, limited periodic inspections, the absence of spare parts
and old materials, and lack of coordination between departments that have an impact on
decreasing flow rates. Researchers recommend the implementation of pre-discharge
meetings and planned maintenance systems to ensure the loading and unloading process
is in accordance with procedures.
