Abstract:
This research is motivated by the suboptimal utilization of the Pelni Mobile Application to support the
passenger ship ticket purchasing process, despite the application being designed to provide ease and
efficiency in transactions and access to information. This study aims to analyze the effect of the Pelni
Mobile Application implementation on passenger ship ticket purchases at PT. Pelayaran Nasional
Indonesia (PELNI) Kupang Branch.
This research used a quantitative method with a descriptive and associative approach. Data collection
was conducted through the distribution of questionnaires to 96 respondents who are Pelni Mobile
Application users. The variables in this study consisted of the independent variable (X), namely the
implementation of the Pelni Mobile Application, measured through the dimensions of ease, usefulness,
reliability, and quality of information, and the dependent variable (Y), namely ship ticket purchases,
measured through the dimensions of purchase intention, purchase decision, satisfaction, and
recommendation. Data analysis techniques used included descriptive analysis, instrument testing,
classical assumption testing, simple linear regression analysis, correlation coefficient testing,
coefficient of determination testing, and hypothesis testing (t-test) using SPSS.
The results showed that the implementation of the Pelni Mobile Application had a positive and
significant effect on passenger ship ticket purchases. This is evidenced by the calculated t value of
17.431, which is greater than the t table of 1.985, and the significance value is smaller than 0.05. The
correlation coefficient value of 0.874 indicates that the relationship between the two variables is in the
very strong category. In addition, the results of the coefficient of determination show that the
implementation of the Pelni Mobile Application has an influence of 76.4% on ship ticket purchases,
while the remaining 23.6% is influenced by other factors outside this study.
