| dc.description.abstract | The reliability of the regasification system on the Floating Storage Regasification Unit (FSRU) Jawa Satu heavily depends on the uninterrupted supply of seawater as a heating medium. This research was prompted by an incident involving a reduction in gas send- out quantities caused by massive clogging of the sea-chest strainer. The objective of this study is to identify the root causes of differential pressure spikes and thermal disruptions in the Glycol Water Heater (GWH) to formulate effective operational mitigation strategies. A qualitative descriptive approach was utilized, with data collection conducted through participatory observation and analysis of the Statement of Fact (SOF) documents, which were subsequently evaluated using the Fishbone Analysis framework. The results indicated that the sharp decline in glycol water temperature was triggered by stripping phenomena in the Seawater Lifting Pump (SWLP) due to the blockade of strainer pores by domestic plastic waste and seasonal marine biota, specifically jellyfish and sea butterflies. This flow restriction directly forced a reduction in the gas send-out rate from 130 MMSCFD to 90 MMSCFD. In conclusion, the operational stability of regasification can be optimized through structured preventive measures. Implementing a Microsoft Excel-based Operational Auto/Manual Backwash and Change Over Monitoring Checklist, adjusting alarm sensitivities, and intensifying visual deck patrols proved effective in detecting anomalies early, preventing pump cavitation, and maintaining a smooth distribution of energy supply to the power plant. | en_US |
