ANALISIS PENURUNAN KEVAKUMAN KONDENSOR UTAMA TERHADAP PERFORMA TURBIN UAP DI KAPAL LNG/ CARRIER GOLDEN ISAIA

Abstract

The aim of this study is to identify the factors causing a decrease in vacuum in the main condenser, the impact of this decrease on the system, and the steps that can be taken to mitigate vacuum problems in the main condenser. The method used in this study is descriptive qualitative with an exploratory approach to describe the phenomena occurring. The phenomenon being studied is the decrease in vacuum in the main condenser, which has a significant impact on the performance of the main turbine. Several factors influencing this decrease in vacuum include air leakage in the system, suboptimal performance of the vacuum pump, the pressure and temperature of the condenser cooling water, and operational errors. This decrease in vacuum can cause disruptions in the main steam system and result in a failure condition (auto slowdown) in the main turbine. To address this issue, system maintenance is necessary, and the likelihood of operational errors should be minimized. Based on the research results, it can be concluded that the decrease in vacuum is caused by various factors, such as steam line leaks entering the main condenser system, poor performance of the vacuum pump, a reduction in the amount of cooling seawater in the main condenser, an increase in cooling water temperature influenced by environmental conditions, and errors in the operation of the turbo generator.
