dc.description.abstract Maulana, Aldi. 564211230. 2025. ““Arduino uno based viscosity sensor prototype design on fuel oil system to support the performance of the main engine on board mt. calypso 7” The use of Heavy Fuel Oil (HFO) as the main fuel of the ship requires proper viscosity management to maintain the efficiency and reliability of the main engine. This thesis discusses the development of an Arduino Uno R3 CH340-based viscosity sensor prototype on the MT. Calypso 7 to support the performance of the main engine. The problem raised comes from the author's direct experience during sea practice, where there is instability in fuel viscosity which has an impact on incomplete combustion and engine damage. This research uses the Research and Development (R&D) method to design, build, and test the developed tool. The prototype integrates a DS18B20 temperature sensor, a KY-003 Hall Effect sensor, a 775 DC motor, and an LCD module for real-time viscosity monitoring. The validation test results show that this tool has a feasibility level of 91.4% and is included in the “very suitable” category. Thus, the developed tool is proven to be effective and practical in helping control the viscosity of fuel to improve the performance of the ship's main engine. en_US
