Imanuel, Giovani Simamora. 2025. " Analysis of the Causes of Delay and Leakage
During Oil Product Loading on MT. Semar 77 at the Loading Port”
Sea transportation plays a crucial role in international trade. One of the common
challenges faced in this sector is operational delays and technical incidents such as
pipeline system leaks. This study aims to analyze the factors causing delays and leakage
during the loading of oil products on the MT. Semar 77 vessel at the loading port. Based
on field observations, the leakage occurred due to a lack of pressure monitoring in the
pipeline system equipped with a flexible joint, as well as weak coordination between the
ship and port authorities. Additionally, issues during the tank cleaning process worsened
the delay, as the cargo tanks did not meet cleanliness standards required for loading.
This research was conducted using direct observation, documentation, and interviews
with ship crew and port personnel. The findings of this study are expected to serve as a
reference for improving onboard safety, preventing similar incidents from recurring, and
providing recommendations to enhance ship operational procedures, particularly in
pipeline supervision and inter-party communication. |
