Salsabilla.2025. “The Effect of Tugboat Availability on Tugboat Services by PT Jasa
Armada Indonesia Tbk at Tanjung Priok Port”
The high demand for tugboat services has the potential to affect the availability of
tugboats. This study aims to determine the effect of tugboat availability on tugboat service
by PT Jasa Armada Indonesia Tbk at Tanjung Priok Port. The research method uses a
quantitative approach of primary and secondary data. The population is 100 people, with
a sample of 80 respondents with the Slovin formula (5% error rate). Analysis techniques
include validity, reliability, correlation, determination, simple linear regression, and
hypothesis testing. The results of the reliability test show a Cronbach's Alpha value of
0.886 (X) and 0.843 (Y), proving the instrument is reliable. Correlation analysis shows a
very strong relationship (r = 0.805), while linear regression produces the equation Y =
15.769 + 0.372X, indicating that every 1 unit increase in tugboat availability increases
service by 0.372. The coefficient of determination (R² = 0.648) proves that 64.8% of
service variations are influenced by tugboat availability, the remaining 35.2% by other
factors. Hypothesis test (tcount = 11.987 > ttable = 0.1852) rejects H0, confirming a
significant effect. The conclusion of the study states that the availability of tugboats has
a positive and very strong effect on tugboat services. The suggestion is the need for
additional ships during peak season or ship charter and ensuring that the implementation
of SOPs is in accordance so as to increase service satisfaction.
