dc.description.abstract This study examines the effect of ballast valve maintenance on the operational performance of the LNG carrier SS. Triputra. The main issue addressed is the operational disruption caused by delayed or neglected ballast valve maintenance, which directly impacts the ship's performance. A quantitative approach was used in this research, involving 37 respondents consisting of active and former crew members of the SS. Triputra during the period from August 2023 to August 2024. Data was collected through observation, documentation, and structured questionnaires based on a Likert scale. Data analysis techniques included instrument validity and reliability tests, simple linear regression analysis, t-tests, and the coefficient of determination (r²). The analysis results showed a significant positive correlation (r = 0.719) between ballast valve maintenance and ship performance, with an r² value of 0.517. This indicates that 51.7% of the variation in ship performance is explained by ballast valve maintenance. It is concluded that timely and scheduled ballast valve maintenance plays an important role in ensuring operational efficiency, equipment reliability, and crew safety, thereby improving ship performance. It is recommended that ship management enhance supervision of maintenance schedules, ensure the availability of competent personnel and spare parts, and enforce compliance with maintenance procedures to improve ship performance. en_US
