Abstract:
The decline in feed water pump performance on the LPG/C ship Immanuel X is the main
focus of this study. This problem is caused by several factors, such as fresh water
temperature that is too high due to a suboptimal condensation process, impeller damage
due to abrasion, and mechanical seal leakage. The impact of this damage is reduced pump efficiency which has an impact on the boiler system and overall ship operations. This
study aims to identify factors causing performance decline, analyze field conditions, and
provide recommendations for appropriate maintenance and repairs to improve efficiency
and work safety. The results of the analysis show that replacing damaged components
and cleaning the condenser regularly are very important in restoring optimal performance.
Implementation of these suggestions is expected to prevent more severe damage and
ensure smooth ship operations.
